About Us

We are a small kennel in the southwest corner of Missouri.  We are out in the country, where our dogs have plenty of room to run, jump, play, and enjoy the fresh air.  We are professional, RESPONSIBLE breeders of quality Italian Greyhounds (IG's), and Yorkshire Terriers.

Here at Spring Country Kennel, our goal is to produce happy, healthy, well socialized puppies.  We continually strive for excellence in their temperament, confirmation, and breed standard conformity.

We are two sisters (identical twins, actually!) who have always been dog lovers, and we take great joy in all of our animals-puppies and adults alike.   These are our 'kids' until they leave here to go to their forever homes, and we take finding them that special place very seriously.  We spend every day with these babies, and they are truly an extension of our family.

It all began with us both having the IG's for our personal pets.  We love them so much that we decided to share our joy with others.  We began breeding a few dogs, and found that we really, really enjoyed it, so we continue to do so.

We are not a large kennel, so at times we may not have a lot of puppies to choose from, but unlike many other breeders, we believe in quality over quantity.  By having fewer dogs we can be sure that all of our animals receive the love and attention they need and deserve on a daily basis.  We employ sound breeding practices and conform to a strict vaccination and de-worming program as recommended by our veterinarian.  We also micro-chip all of our puppies for permanent identification.  As responsible breeders, we feel that this is very important for the future and safety of your puppy.

We feel that it is our duty to continually learn more about breeding practices, health issues, or anything else that may be useful in helping us become better at what we do and improve the lives and health of our dogs and puppies.  We take advantage of every opportunity available to us to obtain new information related to breeding, and general dog health.  Several times a year, we attend continuing education classes designed specifically to further the knowledge of concerned breeders.  We also confer with our veterinarian and other breeders in our area about all issues, and any problems that may arise, so that we provide the absolute best care for our dogs.

Thank you for looking at our site.  Please don't hesitate to contact us with any questions you may have.  We love to talk to people about our puppies.
